An intriguing article from MIT Technology Review
on how the Google/Sun rumors a few weeks back got so out of
control. There was some reasonable guesswork, but the internet
accelerated things to a frenzy.
It's clear that Google has been attracted to the brain trust
of Java experts working for Sun, and they have hired many of the best.
This undoubtedly leads us to wonder about the role of Java at Google
, and I wouldn't be very surprised if we later find out that Google
has skunkworks projects not so different from what the rumors were
describing.
